Product information - Wander Inn and Hostel
We are a short-term accommodation provider, catering to the travelling public. We offer private rooms and dorm rooms (bunk bed in a shared room) for short term stays. We do not accept long term bookings, nor do we accept guests from the local market. Identification is required. Guests with a local address will not be permitted to book with us, unless under extenuating circumstances can be provided. Please call us to discuss.
All bookings include bed linen and towels, however, toiletries are not. For longer periods (7 days and more), the rooms are cleaned once a week, unless specifically requested.
Wander Inn and Hostel uses an online booking, payment and check-in/check-out system. Wander does not have an 'conventional' reception desk, but staff can be reached at any time to help with any requests. Call or text us 24 hours a day at 519-617-5444 or use the intercom located near the entrance (outside of Room One).
IMPORTANT: You will receive an 'access code' via text message and/or e-mail on the day of your arrival (provided you have made the appropriate payment). This unique access code will permit entry to the building and your room. The text/e-mail message will also include information about your room as well as how to access our wifi . Service questions are taken care of by phone or text message at 519-617-5444.
Check-in is normally after 3PM. Check-out by 11AM on day of departure. Your access code will deactivate at standard check-out time of 11AM. If you require additional check out time, please let us know in advance so we can program your extended stay. Additional charges may apply (depending on the length of the extension).
Prices vary according to season and general demand. The price is confirmed at the time of booking.
Security and Incidental Deposit
Each booking is subject to a deposit or debit/credit card hold to be held for the duration of your stay. The amount to be held is $50 CAD for private rooms and $25 CAD for shared rooms. Cash will not be accepted. The deposit must be paid prior to your arrival and will complete the 'self check-in' process. We accept Credit and Credit-Debit cards. The hold/deposit will be released following your check-out time. We aim to release the deposit/hold within 24 hours following check-out, however, it could be held for a period of up to 10 days.
We are subject to any printing errors regarding price and other information about the goods / services on the site. Please contact us if you have any questions.
Sales and Delivery Terms
Reservations without prepayment will be honored, however, payment must be received prior to your arrival and must be paid online. WE DO NOT ACCEPT CASH. You will receive several messages from now until your arrival. This could include the booking confirmation, the payment link, identification verification, security/incidental deposit/hold request, check-in instructions with access code and any other messages that may be important regarding your stay.
Once paid, an email will be sent to you with an invoice for your stay. This receipt is proof that you as a guest have reserved a room for the given period of time and therefore have the right to be accommodated during this period .An SMS and e-mail will be sent to you on the check-in date.
We require full payment prior to accessing our facilities. You must make the payment through the payment link that is sent to you (unless you prepaid through a third party booking site) by SMS and Email.
If booking is made less than two days prior to arrival, you will be requested to settle at the time of booking. The access code for the building and your room will be sent to you after the payment has been registered.
Privacy and GDPR
We process personal data according to the GDPR. Information about your stay is collected only for use in connection with your stay. Information that may be associated with you as a person will never be made available to other businesses or be linked to other external records.
Credit card details
When you book with us, the payment will be processed by our partner, Stripe. This is a secure electronic payment solution for Visa and MasterCard/Eurocard. All card information is handled in accordance to the card companies' regulations.
If you want to cancel your stay, it is possible to do so 24 hours after booking / payment has been completed. If the arrival date is the day after the booking was made, cancellation is subject to a fee. Cancellations must be sent in writing to our email address, marked with "Cancellation" and the order number of the booking. For bookings made through external websites like Booking.com, Hotels.com and similar, cancellation must be made through the same website as you made the booking in. Please note that in this event, the respective cancellation policy of the external partner applies. If you do not cancel according to the above rules you will be charged for the first night of you stay.
Should there be an error or defect in your room and you wish to claim a refund, you must provide us with a written notice (e-mail or letter) within a reasonable period of time. We will then provide you with information on what to do next. The rules on complaints can be found in the Consumer Buying Act (Consumer Purchase Act).
Right of withdrawal
There is no right of cancellation.
There is a guarantee under Canadian law under the Travel Act.
It is only allowed in designated areas.
It is not allowed to let other people enter the premises other than those listed as residents of the room. If there is special need for this, this should be agreed with us in advance. We have a noise and light curfew of 11:59 PM in shared rooms and public areas. Please respect all guests of Wander.
Pets are not allowed. Exceptions MAY be made for service animals - property identification and vest is required. Please contact us prior for approval. Additional charges may apply to assist with the clean up.
If you bring an extra guest without permission, a charge of $150 CAD will be applied to your account.
This is a no smoking establishment. Guests that smoke within the building will be charged $500.
Illegal substances will not be tolerated and will result in the immediate ejection.
Unruly behaviour and disturbance to the property or other guests will result in the immediate ejection.
A copy of the Terms and Conditions will be sent following a completed reservation and by reserving a room with us, you agree to the above noted terms and conditions.
